Hairdressing Professional apprenticeship at a specialist children’s salon in Shirley, Solihull

Provide a positive impression of yourself, organisation and the hairdressing industry. Answer telephone, arrange bookings and greet clients in an appropriate manner. Maintain Client records accurately. Adhere to health and safety, infection control, legal, industry and organisational requirements, industry protocols and manufacturer instructions. Advise, consult, examine and analyse the hair, skin and scalp. Shampoo, condition and treat hair and scalp. Cut hair using a range of techniques to create a variety of looks. Style, set, dress and finish hair using a variety of techniques to create a variety of looks. Perform a range of chemical services to change the colour depth and tone to be completed in college. Use, apply and recommend a range of products, tools and equipment for a range of services. Maintain up to date knowledge and skills of new and emerging hairstyles, trends, techniques, products, tools and equipment.

Training:

The apprenticeship programme consists of on-the-job and off-the-job training delivered through one day per week at our Blossomfield campus, on- the- job training with your employer, independent study and work-based visits from your assessor leading to hairdressing professional level 2 apprenticeship and Level 2 Diploma for Hair Professionals.



Training Outcome:

May progress into level 3 apprenticeship.

Working Hours :
Days and hours will be confirmed by the employer. Minimum 30 hours per week including Off the job training day. Will include early evening and weekend work advised in advance with later starts.
