Restaurant service — assisting with table setup, greeting guests, taking orders, serving food, and maintaining high service standards. Bistro & bar support — preparing drinks, delivering light meals, and ensuring a welcoming atmosphere. Food preparation — supporting the kitchen team with basic prep, plating, and maintaining hygiene standards. Housekeeping assistance — helping maintain clean dining areas, function rooms, and service stations. Customer care — ensuring guests feel welcomed, valued, and well looked after. Health & safety compliance — following food safety, hygiene, and manual‑handling procedures.

Catering & Hospitality Foundation Level Middlesbrough College

Training Outcome:

A Level 2 Foundation Apprenticeship which lasts for 8 MONTHS  can lead directly into a specific route either Chef or front of house programme, helping you build more advanced skills and confidence. For motivated learners, there may also be the opportunity to secure a job at the end of the training, with employers often looking to retain committed apprentices who perform well.
