The Lulworth Estate - Carpentry and Joinery Apprentice

Throughout the apprenticeship you will develop skills including:

Safe use of woodworking hand tools and machinery. Timber selection and preparation. Setting out and marking techniques. Manufacturing bespoke joinery components. Traditional and modern timber joints. Assembly and finishing techniques. Installation principles. Interpretation of technical drawings. Quality assurance and problem solving. Health, safety and environmental awareness. Professional behaviours expected within the construction industry.

Training:

The apprentice will attend Coastland College one day per week (term-time only).



Training Outcome:

Following completion of the apprenticeship the right candidate may be offered a position as a permanent member of staff.

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to begin a career in traditional and modern joinery, working alongside our experienced in-house buildings team.

As a Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery Apprentice (Joinery Pathway), you will develop the practical skills and technical knowledge required to become a competent bench joiner. You will learn to manufacture, repair and install a wide range of bespoke timber products while studying towards your nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification.

Working under the guidance of our skilled joiner, you will gain experience producing high-quality joinery for the Estate's historic buildings, residential properties, commercial premises and visitor facilities.

We are looking for someone who:

Has an interest in woodworking, joinery or traditional crafts.
Enjoys practical, hands-on work.
Has good attention to detail and takes pride in producing quality work.
Is reliable, punctual and willing to learn.
Can follow instructions while developing confidence to work independently.
Demonstrates good teamwork and communication skills.
Is committed to completing the apprenticeship programme.

Working Hours :
Monday - Thursday, 8.00am until 4.30pm. Friday, 8.00am until 3.30pm (1 day per week will be at college during term time).
