Area Manager – Cleaning Services – Milton Keyenes, Northampton and Bedford – Up to £38,000 + package

A well-established service provider is looking to appoint a hands-on Area Manager to oversee a mixed portfolio os18 cleaning contracts across Milton Keyenes, Northampton and Bedford.

This role would suit someone looking to take the next step in their career, multisite experience is key. A good understanding of service delivery, and the ability to maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading teams, driving performance, maintaining compliance, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the operation.

Responsibilities

Oversee the day-to-day delivery of cleaning services on site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standardLead, support, and motivate the cleaning team, maintaining accountability, engagement, and consistent performance across the operationPlan rotas, allocate duties, and manage absence cover to ensure the site remains fully resourced and service levels are maintainedCarry out regular inspections, audits, and quality checks, taking corrective action where standards fall below expectationMonitor service delivery against agreed standards, schedules, KPIs, and client expectations, ensuring continuous improvement where neededEnsure compliance with health and safety procedures, hygiene standards, COSHH requirements, and safe working practicesBuild strong working relationships with on-site stakeholders, maintaining clear communication and a professional approach at all timesManage stock, equipment, and general cleaning resources effectively, ensuring availability, proper usage, and cost control

Requirements

Previous experience in a Cleaning Manager, Cleaning Supervisor, Site Manager, Area Manager, Facilities Manager, or similar operational leadership roleStrong people management experience, with the ability to lead teams, manage performance, and maintain high service standardsGood understanding of health and safety, hygiene standards, compliance, and operational best practice within a cleaning or FM settingStrong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to day-to-day operational demands
