Established in 1997, Covington Developments manufactures high-precision machined components for customers across industries including pharmaceutical machinery, defence and automated technology.
The company specialises in CNC turning, CNC milling and conventional machining, using modern machinery and CAD/CAM technology to produce prototype and production components to demanding tolerances.
Our Turning section uses Fanuc-controlled CNC machines capable of producing precision components to extremely tight tolerances.
The Role
You will be responsible for setting, operating and programming CNC turning machines to manufacture precision components to the required specifications.
This role requires an experienced CNC Turner who can work accurately with minimal supervision, check their own work and maintain consistently high standards throughout production.
Key Responsibilities
Set, operate and programme CNC turning machinesProgramme and operate Fanuc-controlled machineryInterpret engineering drawings and job specificationsSelect appropriate tooling, speeds and feedsProduce components to specified tolerancesInspect and measure your own work throughout productionMake adjustments where required to maintain accuracyComplete machine setups with minimal supervisionMaintain quality and production standardsKeep machines and working areas clean and organisedFollow company health and safety proceduresWhat We're Looking For
You will need:
Strong CNC turning experienceExperience setting, operating and programming CNC lathesGood working knowledge of Fanuc controlsThe ability to work accurately with minimal supervisionExperience reading engineering drawingsConfidence using precision measuring equipmentThe ability to work to close tolerancesA strong understanding of machining processes and toolingGood attention to detail and pride in the quality of your workA reliable and professional approachDesirable Experience
It would be beneficial if you also have:
CAD/CAM experienceFive years or more of CNC machining experienceExperience producing low-volume or precision-engineered componentsWorking Hours
