Multi Skilled Engineering Apprentice
Main Roles and Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Toolroom operations Assisting with planned preventative maintenance (PPM) Support breakdown response and fault finding Work on motors, gearboxes, conveyors, and pneumatic systems Help improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime Toolroom & Machining Manufacture and repair components using:o Manual milling machines
o Centre lathes
o Surface grinders
Produce precision parts (shafts, bushes, spacers, brackets). Support the development of jigs, fixtures, and tooling Carry out bench fitting and assembly work Help deliver rapid in-house repairs to support production Assist with basic electrical fault finding Work with sensors, relays, and control systems (under supervision) Engineering Fundamentals:o Read engineering drawings and follow job instructions
o Use precision measuring equipment
o Learn tolerances, fits, and material properties
Training:
The learner will be studying the Engineering Maintenance Technician - Dual discipline Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard qualification Day release to West Suffolk College
