Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship – Freemantles Primary/Secondary/FE
As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with Teachers, the Lead Assistant, and other staff to support a safe, engaging, and nurturing classroom environment. Help deliver a suitable curriculum and care for the students.
Main Duties:
Help students with learning activities inside and outside the classroom Support play during breaks and assist with trips, encouraging safety and independence Help students take part in all subjects, including arts, sports, and swimming Join and support students on residential and community outings Work closely with the class team to create a positive learning environment Support students with personal needs like toileting and feeding Assist in setting up and organising classroom resources Follow school policies and take part in training and development Carry out therapy activities under guidance from professionals Help manage challenging behaviour using safe strategies (after training) Support transitions between activities and use hands-on guidance to aid learning and communicationTraining:
Study towards a relevant qualification, Level 3 SEND Teaching Assistant Diploma On-the-job training and mentoring from experienced professionals Regular review meetings to track progress and development
Training Outcome:
Potential full-time employment for the right candidate upon successful completion of the apprenticeship.
