Apprentice Dental Nurse

As a Trainee Dental Nurse / Receptionist, you will be integral to providing high-quality patient care in a dental setting Reporting to the lead dentist, your role will involve assisting with patient interactions, managing appointments, and ensuring smooth operations within the practice Your core skills in patient care will be complemented by your relevant abilities in communication, IT, and organisational skills, enabling you to effectively support both patients and dental staff This position offers a valuable opportunity to develop your nursing skills while contributing to a positive patient experience in a professional environment

Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality patient care by assisting with dental procedures and ensuring patient comfort Manage reception duties, including scheduling appointments and handling patient enquiries Maintain accurate patient records and manage sensitive information with confidentiality Utilise IT systems for efficient communication and organisation of patient data Collaborate with dental professionals to ensure smooth clinic operations and effective teamwork

As a Apprentice Dental Nurse you will achieve a Level 3 qualification following an 18-24 month training programme. Before taking your end-point assessment, you must achieve level 2 English and Maths (equivalent to GCSEs at grades A* to C) if you have not already achieved them and can provide evidence confirming this.



Training Outcome:

The successful candidate will work towards achieving a Level 3 qualification in dental nursing whilst gaining valuable experience in a dental practice.

Upon completion of the Level 3 qualification, you will be an experienced and qualified dental nurse, and as such, you can continue building up skills that will always be in-demand. You could progress to acquire specialist qualifications in areas such as sedation, dental radiography, and oral health education.

You may take on more responsibilities as a trainer for other dental nurses or move into a management role within your dental practice. You might decide to apply for a course to qualify as a dental hygienist or therapist.

Alma Terrace Dental Practice is a local dental clinic located at 3 Alma Terrace, Silloth, Wigton, CA7 4DS. It operates in a converted mid-terrace house, offering both NHS and private dental treatments for adults and children in Cumbria.



Working Hours :
This is a part time job initially which could potentially turn into full time, the hours for this job are: Monday: 2.00pm - 7.00pm, Tuesday: 9.00am - 3.00pm, Wednesday: 10.00am - 4.00pm with 1 hour lunch between 1.00pm - 2.00pm.
