Apprentice Civil Engineer
You’ll also be part of our wider Highways and Transport Service and work closely with other teams including Highways operations and Client & Commissioning, who lead on a number of exciting projects.
Including conducting site visits, safety reviews and condition surveys.
This role is focused on highway and transportation design and the preparation of schemes for delivery to our contractor to construct.

The shared Highways service of the Royal Borough of Kingston Upon Thames (RBK) and London Borough of Sutton (LBS) is looking for a committed person to join our team as an Apprentice Civil Engineer. This exciting position is over a 5.5 year period and upon completion will attain a BEng(Hons) Civil Engineering and IEng MICE with the Institution of Civil Engineers. The training provider is London South Bank University (LSBU). This course will develop the necessary Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours to a competent Civil Engineer level. The apprentice will undertake 1 day a week study at the University location with the remaining 4 days work based at the RBK and LBS. Although this role is hybrid, to maximise the learning and provide the appropriate support, apprentices are required to be in the Kingston or Sutton offices 2 or 3 days per week.
Working Hours :
Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm You'll be expected to attend the university one day a week.
