Are you an experienced relationship manager with a strong commercial mindset and a background in the security sector?
Our client is looking for a Client Relationship & Business Development Manager to play a key role in retaining and developing existing client accounts while also identifying and securing new business opportunities.
The company provides SIA-approved strategic security services to clients across the UK, delivering professional security solutions focused on protecting people, premises and businesses.
This is a varied, client-facing role for someone who enjoys building strong relationships, delivering excellent service and turning commercial opportunities into long-term partnerships.
Role overview
You will take ownership of key client relationships while supporting the continued growth of the business. Your responsibilities will include:
Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clientsConduct regular client meetings and site visitsEnsure services continue to meet contractual requirements and client expectationsRespond promptly and professionally to queries, concerns and service issuesIdentify opportunities to strengthen and grow existing accountsBusiness Development
Identify and develop new business opportunities through networking, referrals, prospecting and market researchGenerate leads and build a strong pipeline of prospective clientsArrange and attend meetings with potential clientsUnderstand individual security requirements and recommend appropriate solutionsPrepare tailored proposals, quotations and service plansPresent the company's services clearly and professionally to prospective clientsNegotiate pricing, service specifications and contract termsConvert opportunities into new contracts and long-term client relationshipsContract Mobilisation & Service Delivery
Work closely with operational teams to ensure new contracts are successfully implementedCoordinate the mobilisation of security personnel and resourcesMaintain communication with clients throughout the onboarding processMonitor service delivery during the early stages of new contracts and address any issues quicklyCommercial Growth
Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell additional security servicesMonitor competitor activity and wider developments within the security industryTrack client retention, new business activity and revenue growthProduce regular reports on sales performance and business development activityIdeal candidate
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
Previous experience within the security industry, with an understanding of SIA-approved security servicesExperience in client relationship management, account management and/or business developmentStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsConfidence building relationships with senior client contacts and decision-makersA commercial mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for account growth and new businessStrong negotiation and presentation skillsGood problem-solving and conflict-resolution skillsExperience using CRM systemsGood working knowledge of Microsoft OfficeA full UK driving licence is preferredFlexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends in line with business requirementsAbove all, you will be someone who can strike the right balance between delivering an excellent service to existing clients, growing key accounts and winning new business.
