Apprentice CNC Machinist
Operating 5 axis CNC routing machines
Setting CNC machines for production
Loading and selecting CNC programs
Setting and changing cutting tools
Setting fixtures and accurately positioning components
Trimming and machining vacuum formed plastic components
Understanding engineering drawings and dimensions
Using measuring equipment to check finished components
Carrying out first off and production quality checks
Identifying and reporting machining or quality issues
Understanding different plastic materials and how they machine
Basic CNC machine maintenance and daily checks
Safe working practices around CNC machinery
Working with our CAD/CAM and production teams to understand how components progress from design through to manufacture
Training:
Training will take place at Printworks Campus, Leeds.
You will be required to attend college one day per week.
Training Outcome:
Permanent position available following successful completion of the apprenticeship, subject to performance, attendance and timekeeping
