Building Services Engineering Apprenticeship

Assist senior engineers in designing electrical systems, including lighting, power distribution, and safety systems Use CAD and BIM software (such as AutoCAD or Revit) to produce and update technical drawings and models Carry out electrical load calculations, cable sizing, and energy efficiency assessments under supervision Visit project sites to perform surveys, inspect installations, and check progress against technical specifications Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including mechanical engineers, architects, and site contractors Maintain clear technical documentation, design logs, and compliance records inline with relevant industry standards and safety regulations

Training:

Building Services Engineer Level 6.

Day-Release College Training: You will attend London South Bank University one day per week to study the academic and theoretical modules of the apprenticeship On-the-Job Mentorship: The remaining four days will be spent gaining practical workplace experience at our main office Regular Reviews: You will have quarterly progress reviews with your workplace mentor and college assessor to track learning milestones and portfolio building

Training Outcome:
Immediate Role: Transition into a full-time role as a qualified Electrical Building Services Engineer upon successful completion of the BEng Degree Apprenticeship Professional Registration: Full support to work towards professional recognition, such as Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) status with professional bodies like CIBSE or the IET Long-Term Growth: Long-term progression opportunities into Senior Electrical Engineer, Lead Design Engineer, and Management/Associate Director roles within MEPS Consulting. Specialisms: Opportunities to lead projects in sustainable design, low-carbon technologies, and complex building infrastructure

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday with flexible start/finish times. Flexible start between 08:00 and 09:30, finishing between 16:30 and 18:00 (includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break daily).
