Apprentice Joiner

You will receive full supervision and training throughout your apprenticeship, developing practical skills and industry knowledge across a wide range of bespoke joinery projects. Our work is varied, fast-paced, and often scheduled at short notice, making this an exciting role for someone who enjoys learning and taking on new challenges.

Typical items manufactured in our workshop include:

Windows and doors Garage doors Shopfronts Bespoke bars and back fittings Stained, polished, and painted joinery products

As an Apprentice Joiner, you will assist with:

Measuring materials and checking their suitability for projects Sanding timber and preparing surfaces for finishing Cutting wood to specification Assembling and joining components together Staining, priming, painting, and finishing joinery products Using a range of hand and power tools safely under supervision Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment Supporting the team in completing projects to agreed deadlines

Training:

Carpentry and Joinery Level 2.

You will sent 4 days each week working alongside skills professionals with GLM Joinery and 1 day each week completing training at Derby College's Hudson Building.



Training Outcome:

On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you could progress from being a Trainee Joiner to a Full Bench Joiner. There is also the possibility to progress to a Level 3 Craft Joinery Apprenticeship.

The company was originally formed in 1987, and is founded on many years of experience in supplying quality joinery products. We have experience in providing joinery of the highest quality to: construction and leisure industries; private/limited companies and domestic customers.  

With our fully fitted workshop and highly skilled staff we take great pride in our work from full refurbishments to providing items for ongoing maintenance/repair works.



Working Hours :
Monday to Thursday - 8am to 3pm, Friday 8am to 12pm. 30-minute lunch break.
