Quality Engineering Apprentice
You will learn how to use various different metrology equipment and inspection techniques along the way. This is a hands-on role that allows the apprentice technician to see all different aspects of machining and at the end of the apprenticeship, will be a fully trained quality Inspector.
Responsibilities are :
First off & last off checks Patrol inspections Inspecting batches of components Occasionally documenting reports (something to grow into) Programming CMM & Keyence (something to grow into) Liaising with machinists to ensure Part compliance Visual inspection of deburring Ensuring SOPs for products are completedTraining:
Metrology Technician - Apprenticeship Standard.
Year 1, 2 & 3 - 1 day a week at Appris Training Centre, Bradford: EAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Machining.
Year 1 to Year 4 - Workplace qualification: EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering - Technical Support Technician (Quality & Inspection).
Training Outcome:
Potential for further YP-supported learning – HNC, etc.
