Engineering Apprentice

What will the apprentice be doing? As a Manufacturing Technician Apprentice, you will support our engineering and production teams to improve manufacturing processes, solve technical challenges and help deliver high-quality products for the aerospace industry.

Your responsibilities will include:

Investigating manufacturing issues and helping develop effective solutions Testing and evaluating improvements to production processes Designing and coordinating the manufacture of production aids and tooling Updating and improving assembly procedures used on the shop floor Monitoring manufacturing activities to ensure procedures are followed correctly Carrying out work studies to identify opportunities for increased efficiency Supporting continuous improvement projects and workflow enhancements Assessing engineering designs to ensure they can be manufactured effectively Creating and updating manufacturing documentation, drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) Supporting Lean Manufacturing and 5S activities across the business Developing your understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Using 2D and 3D modelling software to support engineering projects

This role offers a great balance of practical workshop experience and office-based engineering activities. At Franklin Products, no two days are the same. You'll work alongside experienced engineers, gain valuable industry knowledge and play a part in creating products used by passengers around the world. Training:

You will work towards the: Engineering and Manufacturing Support Technician Apprenticeship Standard Training will be delivered through day release to MK College alongside your workplace learning.



Training Outcome:

For the right candidate, successful completion of this apprenticeship may lead to a full-time, more senior Manufacturing Engineer role in the Operations department. This will see you play a bigger role in projects that help influence the manufacturing capability of the company.

Monday - Thursday, 07:00 - 16:00. Friday, 07:00 - 13:00.
