Electrical Engineering Apprentice

Throughout the apprenticeship, the successful candidate will be trained to:

Read and understand basic electrical wiring diagrams and schematics. Install electrical wiring looms and harnesses into emergency vehicles. Fit electrical components including switches, relays, fuse boxes, control modules and distribution systems. Install emergency warning equipment such as lighting, sirens and communication systems. Terminate and connect electrical wiring using approved techniques. Carry out electrical testing using appropriate equipment. Assist with diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults. Complete work in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions and quality standards. Learn how to use a range of hand and power tools safely. Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment. Work closely with colleagues across production to ensure vehicles are completed to schedule. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the electrical department.

Training:

You will study at Kirklees College Engineering Centre, HD1 6AG one day a week throughout the duration of your apprenticeship.
