Apprentice Dental Nurse

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work:

Prepare the surgery, materials and instruments for each patient Follow strict decontamination and sterilisation protocols Safely dispose of clinical waste Assist with and process dental radiographs Update and maintain accurate patient medical histories Follow all practice policies and procedures Adhere to professional and ethical standards, including strict patient confidentiality

Training:

Level 3 Dental Nurse GDC apprenticeship standard lasting 24 months, which includes:

Dental nurse (GDC 2023) Level 3 

Training Outcome:

After qualification, you may progress into a full-time role as a Dental Nurse, with opportunities to further your career in areas such as radiography, oral health education, or practice management.
