Audit and Accounts Apprentice
THE FIRST YEAR
You will start by learning the basics through an online bookkeeping course including the difference between credits and debits, sales and purchase, when VAT applies and lots more. You will be assigned a Buddy who will be on hand to answer any questions and provide on-the-job training to support your academic learning. You will have a personal development plan in place from Day One, providing step by step guidance on what’s needed to progress to the next level in your career journey. You will learn how to use a variety of different accounting software systems including Sage, QuickBooks and Xero. You will learn how to prepare draft working papers to support the preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and small limited companies. You will often work onsite at clients’ to assist with audit fieldwork supporting the rest of the audit team to ensure deadlines are met. You will build relationships with clients through communicating with them regularly by requesting information along with answering queries.YEARS TWO AND THREE
By the start of your second year, you’ll get more involved in the audits, taking a lead in some of the fieldwork. You will work closely with other departments within the Firm on tax, payroll and bookkeeping matters. You will have the opportunity to sit in client meetings so you can understand how your work is vital to their business. You will become a Buddy to a new trainee to further your development.Training:
An AAT apprenticeship is typically a three year programme, combining study with practical, on the job training and we’ll give you all the support you need to realise your full potential. At the end of the course you will be a qualified Management Accountant. We use Starting Off as our training provider who provide weekly webinars for the course. Meeting tooms in the office are booked whilst you are attending the webinar. The majority of our team then go onto a Level 7 qualification to become a fully qualified chartered accountant. We provide generous study support including fully paid study leave as well as the course materials and exam entry fees. There is still an element of study at home, as there is with any course.
Training Outcome:
The majority of our team go onto a Level 7 qualification to become a fully qualified chartered accountant.
Some of our trainees have progressed all the way to Partner - there's plenty of opportunities at Moore if you wish to take them.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday for 7.5 hours per day with a 30 minute lunch break.
