Business Admin Apprentice

Providing an effective and efficient reception service to patients and visitors. Dealing with general enquiries, explaining procedures and making new and follow-up appointments. Contacting patients to arrange medication reviews, minor operations and chronic disease reviews. Using your own communication skills to ensure that patients are directed along the correct care navigation pathway. Receiving and making telephone calls, diverting calls and taking messages, ensuring accuracy of detail. Actioning repeat prescription requests and ensuring that they are sent electronically via EPS within 48 hours. Advising patients of relevant charges for private services, accepting payment and issuing receipts. Entering patient information on to the computer as required. Filing and retrieving paperwork, inputting data onto Electronic Patient Record. Electronically filing hospital letters. Scanning letters and relevant correspondence into patient's notes, summarising patient's notes when requested. Carrying out searches, audits and recalls as required by the clinical team and managers. Minimum of 6 hours per week spent on apprenticeship work and training.

Training:

You'll attend monthly 1-2-1 meetings (online via teams every month - NO classroom OR college!) with your tutor and learn about modules including the organisation, stakeholders, relevant regulation, business fundamentals, processes & external factors.

You will be given a minimum of 3 hours per week to complete any apprenticeship work (assignments, research, and projects) and will receive at least another 3 hours of training from your employer. 



Training Outcome:

As with any apprenticeship opportunity - if you prove yourself to be a valuable member of the team there is a strong chance of a permanent post within the business.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, working flexibly between 8am - 6.30pm (1 Tuesday evening until 8pm on a rota basis).
