CNC Setter Operator Apprenticeship

The purpose of this role is to support with the production of machined parts by setting and operating CNC equipment whilst maintaining quality and safety standards. 

Setting up and operating CNC grinders, CNC milling machines and CNC lathes as per defined tolerance levels.  Verifying the machine settings by measuring positions, carrying out trial runs and sampling work pieces.  Maintaining specifications by observing turning, milling or grinding operations, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes and adhering to quality assurance procedures.  Maintaining equipment by completing preventative maintenance processes as per manufacturer instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions where possible and escalating to the relevant engineers for issues that fall outside of remit.  Maintaining continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities and continuing needs.  Documenting actions by completing production and quality logs 
Identifying improvements that have a direct impact on SQDCP KPI’s. 

Training:

Maidstone Midkent college, 1 day per week.

Working Hours :
38.75 hours 06:00-14:15 or 14:00-22:15 Monday to Friday 2 weeks earlies and then 2 weeks lates.
