Apprentice Painter and Decorator

Preparing walls, ceilings and other surfaces Filling cracks and holes Sanding and smoothing surfaces Applying paint with brushes and rollers Using spray-painting equipment Applying undercoat and primer Hanging wallpaper Removing old paint or wallpaper Cleaning and maintaining tools Protecting floors, furniture and other areas Mixing paint and matching colours Keeping the work area clean and safe Following health and safety procedures Helping experienced painters and decorators with larger jobs

Training:
The apprenticeship involves 1 college day per week and 4 days in the workplace

Training Outcome:
Possibility of full time, permanent employment and further training
