Apprentice Fire Alarm Cable Installation Engineer
Carry out first-fix installation activities including drilling, fixing brackets, installing conduit/trunking, and pulling fire alarm cables through buildings.
Terminate cables at panels, modules, and devices in line with design drawings and manufacturer instructions.
Interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and building plans to determine cable routes and equipment locations.
Assist with second-fix tasks such as mounting detectors, sounders, call points, and control panels.
Support testing, commissioning, and fault-finding activities using multimeters and other test equipment.
Complete site documentation including installation records, test sheets, and daily reports.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work area; handle tools, ladders, and materials responsibly.
Follow all health and safety policies, risk assessments, and method statements; attend toolbox talks and safety briefings.
Training:
The successful applicant will work towards the Fire, Emergency & Security Systems Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard.
Will be required to attend day release at Access Training on Team Valley, Gateshead (this may be 1 day per week or 1 day per fortnight, depending upon the phase of the course you are in).

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm.
