Locum Approved Mental Health Practitioner

A Local Authority in Berkshire are looking for Approved Mental Health Professionals (AMHP) to join their Community Mental Health Team.

Experience of working within Older Adults Mental Health is preferred.

Your responsibilities as an AMHP in the Mental Health Team:

Demonstrate experience of working within the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Mental Health Act and Safeguarding
Carry out the functions and responsibilities of an AMHP under the Mental Health Act and contribute to the AMHP rota and AMHP backup rotas as required
You will be responsible for monitoring the mental health of older people with both organic and functional mental health diagnosis
Organising hospital discharges and assessing for care needs and arranging care as required
You will be responsible for their own case load and be expected to take part in the duty rota triaging referrals, taking calls as required and completing urgent assessments


Requirements of the AMHP in the Mental Health Team

Current registration with Social Work England
AMHP Qualification
2 years post qualifying UK experience
Qualified Social Worker BA/DipSW/CQSW or equivalent


Pay rate: £38 per hour (Umbrella)
Location: Wokingham, Berkshire
