Apprentice Welder

Day to day tasks will include:

Work to a variety of procedures covering TIG, MAG, FCAW etc. Welding of parts in the following metals: Stainless, Duplex, Carbon, Nickel Chrome, Aluminium & Monel Wide range of thicknesses of plates and sections Working with electric or manual hand tools as required to support the job Interpret and work to MITPs, Route cards, Drawings, Weld Maps and WPS requirements Follow weld maps and record consumables onto weld history sheets Maintain working area to a clean and tidy standard during and at the end of shift Carry out routine checks of welding equipment to ensure that it is in good working order prior to use 

Training:

Plate Welder Level 3.

The training for this apprenticeship will be delivered over two years. An assessor will visit the apprentice on a monthly basis at the company, and the apprentice will also be required to attend college one day per week. College is In-Comm Training Services in Aldridge, WS9 8UG.

Training will include:

General & Welding Specific Health & Safety Dimensional & Mechanical Properties of Materials Welding Procedures, Parameters & Symbols Testing & Inspection Welding Defects MIG, MAG and FCAW processes MMA Processes TIG-TAG and PAW Processes

Training Outcome:

Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there will be opportunity for a full-time position as a coded welder.
