Location: Fajardo, Puerto Rico
Compensation: $140,000 USD + up to 20% performance bonus
Benefits: 3 months housing allowance, relocation assistance up to $10,000, 3 months car allowance, medical insurance, life insurance, paid vacation, and additional company benefits.
We are recruiting on behalf of an exclusive luxury private club in Puerto Rico seeking an experienced Executive Sous Chef to join the culinary leadership team. This is a rare opportunity to be part of an exciting pre-opening project, helping to build an exceptional culinary program from the ground up within one of the Caribbean's most prestigious luxury hospitality developments.
Working alongside the Executive Chef, the successful candidate will play a key role in developing culinary standards, operational systems, and a high-performing kitchen culture while delivering exceptional dining experiences across multiple luxury outlets.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Executive Chef in leading all day-to-day culinary operations across multiple dining conceptsAssist in developing menus that celebrate local ingredients with refined international influencesBuild and implement operational systems, including recipes, purchasing, inventory, production flow, and training programsRecruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing culinary team while fostering a positive kitchen cultureOversee labour management, scheduling, food costs, and operational budgetsEnsure the highest standards of food quality, consistency, presentation, and sanitationSupport the opening of new culinary concepts and contribute to the long-term growth of the food & beverage programCollaborate with senior leadership to continuously enhance the overall guest experienceIdeal Candidate Profile
Previous Executive Sous Chef experience within a luxury private club, 5-star hotel, luxury resort, or Michelin-recognized operationStrong pre-opening or new opening experience with the ability to build systems and operational processes from the ground upProven experience leading multi-outlet culinary operationsStrong pastry, bakery, and luxury amenities experience is highly desirableExcellent leadership, mentoring, and people development skillsStrong financial acumen with experience managing labour, food costs, purchasing, and inventoryFluent in both English and SpanishPlease note that only American citizens or Puerto Rican citizens are being considered for the position
