You'll be delivering reactive, bespoke engineering solutions to time-critical challenges-working hands-on, under pressure, and with full visibility of the project lifecycle.

From the initial enquiry to final invoicing, you'll play a key role in shaping engineering outcomes that matter.

The Role

As a Graduate Project Engineer, you'll be at the heart of operations-liaising with clients, designing solutions, supporting onsite jobs, and ensuring every detail is right. No two days are the same, and the reactive nature of the work means you'll need to be adaptable, decisive, and a strong communicator.

You'll be supported and guided from day one, but also trusted to take the lead as your confidence grows.

Key Responsibilities as an Insitu Graduate Project Engineer:

Create bespoke machining solutions using CAD (AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks)Generate drawings, work orders, and tooling specs for non-standard jobsEstimate project timeframes and costs, ensuring alignment with pricing structuresPlan and coordinate time-sensitive projects with technical and commercial oversightAct as the main point of contact for customers-building rapport and trustJoin project teams onsite to support and deliver machining operationsMonitor job progress, adjust plans, and ensure smooth deliveryConduct site visits for quoting or project support (some travel and overnight stays required)Contribute to the development of new tools and processesSupport continuous improvement and your own professional learning

What You'll Need:

Essential:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)Sound knowledge of mechanical systems and principlesAccuracy, attention to detail, and a methodical approachStrong communication skills-both written and verbalConfidence using CAD software (AutoCAD, Inventor, or SolidWorks)Ability to read and interpret engineering drawingsComfortable juggling competing priorities in fast-moving environmentsTeam-oriented, but able to work independentlyA UK driving licence for site-based work

Desirable:

Knowledge of machining methods (especially insitu techniques)Experience in client-facing or sales-focused technical environments

This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys hands-on engineering work, and is passionate about problem-solving and customer satisfaction.

Working Hours: Normal working week is 38hrs Monday-Friday, although there will be additional hours required as dictated by workload and projects.
