Assistant General Manager - Independent Neighbourhood Pub and Dining Room - £40,000

We’re looking for a driven and enthusiastic Assistant General Manager to join this independent neighbourhood pub and dining room in South West London.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional who loves great food, quality drinks and genuinely warm service. Working closely with the General Manager, you’ll help lead the team, oversee day-to-day operations and ensure every guest leaves wanting to return.

Our ideal candidate will be a confident and positive leader who enjoys being present on the floor. You’ll know how to motivate a team, maintain high standards and create a welcoming atmosphere, even during the busiest services.

What you’ll be doing

Supporting the General Manager with the smooth running of the businessLeading shifts and delivering consistently excellent guest experiencesRecruiting, training, developing and motivating the front-of-house teamMaintaining high standards of service, presentation, cleanliness and complianceManaging bookings, private events and special occasionsSupporting stock control, ordering, rotas and wage managementHelping to grow sales and improve commercial performanceBuilding lasting relationships with guests and the local communityTaking responsibility for the venue in the General Manager’s absence

What we’re looking for

Previous management experience in a quality pub, bar or restaurantA natural leader with a hands-on, lead-from-the-front approachA genuine passion for hospitality, seasonal food and great drinksStrong communication and organisational skillsCommercial awareness and confidence working with targets and budgetsThe ability to remain calm, upbeat and decisive under pressureFlexibility to work evenings, weekends and busy seasonal periodsA proactive attitude and a real desire to develop your career
