Electrical Engineering Apprentice

This typically involves using layout drawings and electrical diagrams to assist with marking out, machining material by using battery powered hand tools, using mechanical tools to allow the fitting and wiring of electrical components inside panels.

Assist with testing of the completed panels to ensure that they are both mechanically and electrically correct to the supplied drawings before dispatching to the customer.

Training:

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying.

4 days a week at Leicester Switch and Controls Ltd and 1 day a week at college.

Many years’ experience in providing both innovative and practical equipment solutions from simple dedicated control applications through to fully networked PLC and SCADA packages. Custom-built industrial control panels for automation, motor drives, instrumentation and process control. Incorporating electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical equipment, with optional levels of system visualisation to suit the application. Wherever possible the control panel designers will always identify opportunities to maximise system performance and reduce energy consumption.

Monday to Thursday 0700 – 1600 Friday 0700 – 1300
