Apprentice Teaching Assistant

An Apprentice Teaching Assistant supports teaching and learning across the school by working closely with teachers to help pupils achieve their full potential. This includes supporting individuals, small groups and occasionally whole classes, helping to deliver engaging learning activities and encouraging the development of literacy, numeracy, confidence, independence and social skills. You will contribute to creating a positive, inclusive and nurturing environment where all children feel safe, valued and supported to succeed.

The role also involves providing additional support for pupils with learning, emotional, behavioural or special educational needs, helping them to access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. Responsibilities include preparing and organising learning resources, undertaking routine administrative tasks, and assisting with the supervision of pupils during lessons, educational visits and school events. Flexibility is required to support different year groups and contribute to the wider life of the school as needed.

You'll actively participate in training, college attendance and coursework to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for the role. Additional responsibilities, such as lunchtime supervision, may be undertaken where agreed as part of the contracted hours.

Training Outcome:

Successful completion of the apprenticeship may lead to a permanent Teaching Assistant position, subject to vacancies and performance. The experience and qualification gained will also provide a strong foundation for further roles within education, including Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), specialist SEND support roles, or future teacher training.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday (8:30am- 3:15pm)- 1 hour unpaid for lunch, optional lunchtime supervisor role available (30 minutes per day).
