Data Input / IT Apprentice

The role will involve but not limited to:       

Summarising and Read coding relevant information and accurately inputting highly confidential information on the computerised records of registered patients. Coding relevant information from patient’s clinical records, hospital correspondence and other sources into the practice computer system. Managing incoming post (scanning), date stamping and recording relevant information within the appropriate fields. Allocated post electronically to GPs and actioning it on its return sending tasks to appropriate departments. Monitoring and actioning Path Lab links and Health Authority links. Allocating abnormal bloods to GPs Ensuring that new patients are registered either temporarily or permanently and deducting patients who have transferred out. Following the Movement of Medical Records protocol. Managing discharge information Reviewing emails from the Practice.net account and action accordingly Ensuring the efficient running of the practice computer system, carrying out searches, audits and recalls as required by the doctors, nurses and manager. Developing an in depth knowledge of SystmOne in order to advise and trouble shoot on the system. Investigating and resolving problems in the day to day use of computers, printers and other IT related equipment. Ensuring the effective running of the Practice’s IT network and email system including the management of user profiles. Reporting faults to software supplier or ICB IT and track progress.
 

Training:

The apprentice with be mentored and supervised by the Operations Manager who will oversee training the Apprentice in all aspects or the role.

The successful candidate will continue their studies with apprenticeship specialists RNN Group both on line and face to face giving you the training and support you need to become an all-rounded and successful administrator.

 



Training Outcome:

Ideally to become a permanent member of the Admin & Clerical team that supports the day to day administrative / IT operation of a busy general practice.

Working Hours :
Monday – Friday 8.30am – 5.00pm.
