Product and Specification:

Working with water-borne, solvent borne and epoxy Drying, curing and recoating The effect of colour, design and contrast Preventing common problems Correcting common problems Hazardous to health sheets, method statements and risk assessments

Preparation, application and removal:

Working with new surfaces Working with pre-decorated surfaces Removal of previous coatings and wall coverings with different methods Traditional and modern methods of making good surfaces Systems for metals, wood, plastic and factory finishes Application of brush Application of roller Application of pressure roller Spray application Specialist decorative techniques - graining, marbling, gilding Removal and application of wall coverings

Training:
Painter and Decorator Level 2 Block college release one week in four at South Gloucestershire and Stroud College Construction campus in Filton, Bristol Site based evidence gathering Job reports Off the job learning

Training Outcome:
Permanent contract potential Progression to either a level 3 trade qualification of junior management
