HGV Service and Maintenance Technician Apprentice
Apprentices will undertake a wide variety of tasks while supervised by a competent operative in 4 key areas within trailer manufacturing.

Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on HGVs and trailers Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults Complete MOT preparations and ensure vehicles meet DVSA standards Carry out safety checks in line with company and legal requirements Use diagnostic equipment to identify faults and apply effective solutions Maintain accurate service records, job cards, and compliance documentation Daily housekeeping duties Manual handing procedures Safe use and maintenance of Power, Air & Hand Tools Adhere to health & safety policies and maintain a clean, safe working environmentTraining:
The Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship combines practical workplace training with structured off-the-job learning to develop the skills required to inspect, service, maintain, diagnose, and repair heavy vehicles and trailers. Apprentices receive ongoing support from a dedicated tutor through regular reviews, coaching, and progress tracking, while an experienced workplace mentor provides day-to-day guidance and hands-on training. This blended approach enables apprentices to build technical competence, gain a nationally recognised qualification, and become confident, skilled technicians capable of making a valuable contribution to the business.
Training Outcome:
To become a Level 3 HGV Service and Maintenance Technician. Successfully completing the Heavy Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician Level 3 Apprenticeship has will enable you the apprentice to become a skilled and competent technician at Tiger Trailers. You will confidently carry out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs while working safely and effectively, providing a strong foundation for future career progression within the business and the wider transport industry.
