Weekend Production Operator

Pay: £17.00 per hour
Hours: 24 hours per week, Saturday and Sunday

Important Training Requirement
To be eligible for this role, you must be available to complete 10 training shifts between Monday and Friday before starting the weekend shift pattern.
The training will take place on a rotating shift pattern:
Days: 6:00am–2:00pmAfternoons: 2:00pm–10:00pmNights: 10:00pm–6:00amPlease only apply if you can commit to completing all 10 weekday training shifts across this rotating pattern.

Our client is a highly regarded plastics manufacturer with an excellent reputation for environmental performance, operational efficiency and employee recognition.
The business continues to invest heavily in its employees, production equipment and manufacturing facilities. Its Rotherham site operates an extensive range of large-tonnage injection moulding machines, with further investment planned.
The Opportunity
We are looking for reliable and motivated Weekend Production Operators to join the company’s Production team.
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you will support the production process, assist with the safe operation of machinery and complete basic quality checks on finished products.
Following appropriate training, you will be expected to identify and report product or process non-conformances and ensure your work area remains clean, safe and audit-ready.
Key Responsibilities
Your duties will include:
Assisting with the safe and efficient operation of production machineryCompleting safety checks on production areas, machinery and equipmentCarrying out basic quality checks on finished productsReporting defects, non-conformances and product concernsImmediately reporting accidents, near misses and safety hazardsFollowing approved work instructions and Safe Operating ProceduresMeeting all site and personal safety requirementsCompleting mandatory factory and role-specific trainingMaintaining accurate production and quality records where requiredCompleting housekeeping and “Clean as You Go” activitiesKeeping your workstation clean, organised and audit-readyWorking positively and effectively with colleagues and other departmentsIdentifying waste and suggesting opportunities to reduce or eliminate itHealth, Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

Previous experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or production environment would be beneficial, although full training will be provided.
