End of Life Care Assistant (Community)

£14.24 per hour + 35p per mile mileage for drivers

We are looking for dedicated Community End of Life Care Assistants to provide compassionate, person-centred care to individuals wishing to remain in the comfort of their own homes during the final stages of life.

Whether you are an experienced care professional or have transferable care experience, we would love to hear from you. Previous care experience is preferred but not essential, as specialised end of life care training will be provided to equip you with the knowledge, confidence, and skills needed for this rewarding role.

About the Role

As a Community End of Life Care Assistant, you will support individuals and their families by delivering high-quality, compassionate care in their own homes. You will work as part of a supportive team dedicated to ensuring every person receives dignified, respectful, and personalised care.

You must be happy to travel across all areas we cover (Swindon and the local area).

Your Responsibilities

You will provide compassionate support tailored to each individual's needs, including:

Delivering personal care with dignity and respect Supporting comfort, mobility, and repositioning Administering or prompting medication where appropriate Providing emotional support and companionship to clients and their families Preparing light meals and assisting with household tasks Supporting individuals to remain comfortable and independent at home Working closely with healthcare professionals to provide seamless end of life care Maintaining accurate care records and reporting any changes in wellbeing

Exceptional Training Provided

End of Life Care Palliative Care Principles Symptom Awareness Communication with Families Emotional Wellbeing and Bereavement Awareness Person-Centred Care Medication Awareness Moving and Handling Safeguarding

You will be fully supported throughout your learning journey with ongoing training and development opportunities.

Shifts Available

We offer flexible working patterns, including:

Morning: 7:00am – 15:00pm Evening: 15:00pm – 23:00pm Tea & Bed: 17:00pm – 23:00pm

Full-time, part-time, and weekend-only positions are available.

This is a community-based role, so flexibility and willingness to travel across Swindon and surrounding areas is essential. These hours can vary to meet the needs of the business.
