Crushing & Screening Engineering Apprentice
As a Technical Engineering Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced mobile service engineers learning how to inspect, maintain, diagnose faults and repair crushing and screening equipment used throughout the UK. Your duties will include:
Assisting with servicing and maintenance of mobile plant machinery Learning hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems Carrying out planned maintenance and inspections Diagnosing faults using modern diagnostic equipment Working safely around heavy machinery Using tablets and digital job management systems Reading technical manuals and engineering drawings Travelling to customer sites with experienced engineers Keeping accurate service records Learning how to deliver excellent customer serviceThis is a practical role where around 90% of your time will be spent outdoors, either in our workshop or at customer sites working on heavy mobile equipment such as:
Powerscreen crushers Powerscreen screeners Mobile conveyors Washing equipment Material handling equipmentEvery day is different and you'll develop valuable skills in mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and fault-finding disciplines.
Training:
You will attend Solihull College & University Centre (Woodlands Campus) once a week during term time. You will also be visited in your workplace by an Engineering Assessor every 6 to 8 weeks to pick up the work-based evidence and prepare you for the End Point Assessments
Training Outcome:
On successful completion of the apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to become a fully qualified Mobile Service Engineer with PowerX Equipment Ltd. Continued development may lead to Senior Engineer, Technical Specialist, Workshop Supervisor, Field Service Manager or Technical Support roles, with ongoing manufacturer training from leading equipment manufacturers including Powerscreen.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm 40 hours per week including apprenticeship training. Occasional early starts and travel to customer sites may be required.
