Mechanical Estimator

A leading mechanical and electrical building services specialist is currently looking for a permanent Mechanical Estimator to accurately estimate the costs of mechanical systems across construction projects in Surrey.

Start Date: Immediate
Salary: £68,000 – £75,000 per annum (DOE)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Monday – Friday)

Duties:

Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand mechanical scope Perform detailed take-offs and quantity surveys (HVAC, plumbing, piping, fire protection) Prepare comprehensive cost estimates and budgets, including labour, materials, and equipment Solicit and evaluate subcontractor/supplier bids and negotiate pricing Attend pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator in construction Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and fire protection systems Proficient in reading engineering drawings and specifications Familiarity with estimating software advantageous
