Welder/Fabricator Apprentice
Learning MIG, TIG and MMA welding techniques under the guidance of experienced fabricators
Welding, fabrication and manufacture of components, including occasional on-site work
Reading and working from drawings and cutting lists, then bringing them to life in the workshop
Cutting raw materials, drilling, punching and plasma cutting
Preparing and finishing fabricated items to a high standard, making sure jobs are goods-out ready on time
Forklift operation (training provided), plus collection and delivery of items from suppliers
Weekly PUWER inspections on workshop equipment and monitoring stock of welding consumables
Training:
Four days a week, hands-on training in our workshop, led by our team of experienced operatives who together have 50+ years' experience
One day a week at MidKent College working towards your formal qualification
Training Outcome:
Complete the apprenticeship and there's a permanent Welder/Fabricator role waiting. We promote from within and support ongoing development – this is a long-term career, not just a qualification.

Working Hours :
Monday, 8:30am to 4:00pm. Tuesday, 8:00am to 4:00pm. Wednesday, College. Thursday, 8:00am to 4:00pm. Friday, 8:00am to 3:00pm.
