Apprentice Medical Secretary

Create patient referrals from dictations and other sources. Liaise with hospitals and other secondary care providers where
necessary. Take minutes for business meetings. Maintain patient records and update information as necessary. Handle phone calls, emails, and other forms of communication. Assist with billing and insurance claims processing. Coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers. Logging of complaints.

Training:
Apprentices will be allocated a Trainer Assessor and training will be planned and delivered in conjunction with the employer to meet the individual needs of the apprentice The apprentice will spend 20% of their working hours in off the job activities and training On-the-job and off-the-job training will be delivered in the
workplace

staff. They are situated on Nottingham Road in Ilkeston. They have
been rated as ‘outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC)



Working Hours :
Hours to be worked during the medical centres opening times Monday – Friday, typically 9am – 5pm.
