Deputy Manager - Adult Learning Disabilities Complex Residential

Applications are invited from commited and experienced Registered Nurses, Allied Health Professionals or Social Workers to join the Adult Learning Disabilities Complex Residential team as Band 6 Deputy Manager within the Adult Learning Disabilites Service on the beautiful Island of Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.
The site is a newly opened purpose-built facility providing support for 14 Service Users in single self-contained flats. 
The flats are in a fantastic location - flat for wheelchair usersnear the beach, shops and cafés and access to bus routes.
Well-equipped and appointed with key-considerations for Service Users with profound leaning and physical disabilities; safely enclosed garden, ceiling track hoists and sensory-sensitive colour schemes.

As Deputy Manager, in supporting the Service Manager you will:
- undertake the assessment of service users with complex needs.
- guide, advise and direct other staff in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care received by service users.
- contribute to the recruitment and retention of team members
- undertake the professional development review process with identified team members. Support staff with performance issues developing plan to address developmental needs.
- act as a professional role model for junior staff, promoting high standards of practice and strong professional values.
- act up as necessary in the absence of the manager.

Please note; Guernsey has adopted the AfC banding system, but have applied their own salary scale.
The Guernsey Band 6 salary range is £47,860 to £64,615 plus an annual bonus of £1,747 and higher unsocial hours enhancements; 36% evening/Saturday and 72% Sunday/BH.
Annual leave starts at 36 days up to 42 days with full credit for NHS or Local Authority service for annual leave and sick leave

Person requirements:
Registered Nurse, Social Worker or Allied Health Profesional with full UK professional registration.
At least two years current or recent UK experience leading a Learning Disabilities service at senior Band 5 or Band 6 level.
Completion of a recognised Teaching and Assessing/Mentorship qualification.
To hold a UK driving licence.
