Level 2 Engineering Operative Apprentice

As an apprentice, you’ll work at a company and get hands-on experience. You’ll gain new skills and work alongside experienced staff.

What you’ll do at work:

Examining customer drawings & specifications such as CAD drawings, or descriptions, and visualising product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts Computing dimensions customers tooling layout, and determining assembly method and sequence of operations, following operating procedures supplied Calibrating material specified on each purchase order, measuring stock prior to starting production Setting up and operating machine tools such as Auto rule processors, grinding, chamfering, linishing and laser machines Verifying conformance of machined parts to specifications and working tolerances Verifying dimensions, alignments, and clearances Examining standard dies, tools Manufacturing product to pre-agreed specifications & general descriptions for specialty tools and design of product

Training:
6 hours “off the job” training

Working Hours :
Typical working hours: Monday - Friday, 08.00 – 16.00, 40 hours a week (which includes 6 hours “off the job” training).
