Apprentice Metal Fabricator

Work with different metals creating fabricated and structural products using engineering drawings Cut, drill, shape and prepare materials using manual and power tools, calculating dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of mathematics Adhere to Health & Safety regulations and policies and work proactively as part of a team Maintain a good attitude to housekeeping, tidying up at the end of each shift

Training:

Level 3 Metal Fabricator Apprenticeship Standard, whoch includes:

Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge) Level 3 Extended Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Development Knowledge) Level 2 Functional Skills in maths and English (if required)

In College one day a week over the full period of the apprenticeship.

The final year will involve completion of a portfolio and preparation for End Point Assessment (EPA). This measures the skills, knowledge and behaviours outlined in the standard and is carried out by ESFA approved organisations independent from the college.



Training Outcome:

The starting wage will be regularly reviewed and increase in line with performance and progression throughout the apprenticeship.

There is the potential to be taken on as full-time member of staff at the end of the apprenticeship. 



Employer Description:
We are sheet metal fabricators in Yorkshire providing a range of metal fabrication services. Working with stainless steel, mild steel and aluminium, we specialise in stainless steel sheet metal, bar, tube and box section fabrications for the packaging and pharmaceutical industries. Combined with mild steel and aluminium fabrications for the entertainment industry.

Working Hours :
Monday - Thursday, 7.00am - 4.00pm. Friday, 7.00 am - 12.45 pm.
