Electrical Technician Apprentice
Assisting engineers carrying out electrical maintenance on industrial plant and HV/LV systems.
Supporting electrical testing including insulation resistance, continuity and functional testing.
Assisting with protection relay secondary injection testing and commissioning activities.
Learning safe isolation procedures and electrical safety practices.
Assisting with cable installation, termination and equipment replacement.
Supporting engineers during planned outages and commissioning projects.
Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and single line diagrams.
Developing an understanding of transformers, switchgear, protection systems and electrical distribution networks.
Learning how to use specialist electrical test equipment.
Completing college work alongside practical workplace experience.
Maintaining high standards of health, safety and quality at all times.
Training:
Training will be delivered at Heart of Yorkshire Education Group, this will be block release.
Training Outcome:
Following successful completion of the apprenticeship there is an opportunity to become a permanent Electrical Technician within Rosa Engineering Ltd.
Further development opportunities may include:
High Voltage Authorisation training. Electrical testing and commissioning. Protection relay testing. Power system studies. City & Guilds qualifications. HNC/HND or Degree progression where appropriate. Long-term career progression into Engineer roles.Employer Description:
