Apprentice Painter & Decorator
Preparing surfaces for decoration, including sanding, filling and cleaning.
Assisting with masking and protecting areas before work begins.
Learning how to apply paints, primers and other coatings using brushes, rollers and spray equipment.
Assisting with wallpaper hanging and decorative finishes.
Mixing and preparing materials and equipment.
Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Following health and safety procedures on site.
Loading, unloading and storing materials and equipment.
Working alongside experienced painters and decorators to develop practical skills.
Attending college and completing coursework towards the apprenticeship qualification.
Travelling to a variety of residential and commercial sites across the South West.
Training:
Training will primarily take place on site alongside experienced and qualified decorators, providing hands-on experience in a live working environment. The apprentice will also receive support from a dedicated tutor who will attend the site every 4 to 6 weeks to provide additional training and monitor progress. In addition, online college learning will take place every two weeks to support the practical elements of the apprenticeship and ensure progress towards the qualification.
Training Outcome:
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship, there may be an opportunity to secure a permanent position as a qualified Painter and Decorator within the company. Further career progression opportunities may include becoming a Team Leader or Supervisor for the right candidate.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, 8am to 4.30pm.
