Teaching Assistant Apprentice at Ridgeway Primary Academy

Support teachers with planning, delivering and evaluating learning activities Assist with whole-class teaching and learning activities Work with individual pupils and small groups Support pupils' literacy and numeracy development Promote pupils' confidence, independence and emotional wellbeing Prepare learning resources and classroom displays Support pupils with additional needs and SEND requirements Help maintain a safe, secure and inclusive learning environment Record pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff Support positive behaviour and pupil engagement Assist with educational visits and school activities Support wrap-around care provision when required Undertake lunchtime supervision duties Communicate professionally with staff, parents and carers where appropriate

Training:

Training will be delivered through Leicestershire County Council's Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship programme. The apprentice will receive off-the-job training alongside practical workplace learning at Ridgeway Primary Academy. Course enrolment is scheduled for September 2026.



Training Outcome:

Successful completion of the apprenticeship may lead to a permanent Teaching Assistant role and further progression opportunities within Learn Academies Trust, including specialist support roles and higher-level educational support positions.

Working Hours :
Monday to Friday, 8.45am to 3.15pm. Working term time plus one additional week during school holidays.
