Sheet Metal Apprentice
The apprentice will be trained over time to set up and run waterjet cutting machines, press brakes, automatic folders, welding and finishing processes. They will also be trained to learn basic engineering drawing, measuring and marking out, knowledge of engineering materials and handling of engineering information.
Additional skills covered may include, fitting using hand skills, producing sheet metal components and assemblies and a range of welding techniques and principles. Each of these is decided by the level of qualification being taken and the job role you are undertaking.
