About the Role
Teach South Kent is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant (TA) to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities in schools within the Tonbridge area. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping every child reach their full potential.
You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and support staff to provide tailored support for pupils with a range of needs, helping to create a positive, supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with SENDAssist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategiesSupport pupils with communication, social, emotional, and behavioural needsWork collaboratively with teachers and other staff to adapt learning activitiesEncourage independence, confidence, and engagement in learningHelp maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environmentRequirements
Previous experience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant or supporting pupils with SEND in a school settingUnderstanding of a range of special educational needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs)A patient, empathetic, and proactive approachStrong communication and teamwork skillsRelevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEND support are desirable but not essentialEnhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)What Teach South Kent Offers
