Apprentice Teaching Assistant (High Coniscliffe CoE Primary School)
We are seeking a compassionate and caring individual to join our team as an Apprentice Teaching Assistant from September 2026. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing inclusive support to pupils with a range of learning needs, ensuring all children have equal access to education and opportunities for success.

Duties include, but are not restricted to:
Work closely with class teachers and Teaching Assistants to implement individualised learning plans for pupils with all levels of needs and abilities Provide one to one and small group interventions to help pupils overcome learning barriers and achieve academic progress Assist in the creation and adaptation of learning materials to suit pupils’ individual needs Foster a supportive and inclusive environment throughout school where all pupils feel valued and respected Assist with the supervision of pupils out of lesson times, including breakfast club, lunchtimes and playtimes Provide accurate clerical support when requiredTraining:
You will be completing the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard with Darlington Borough Council Learning & Skills. This programme equips you with the knowledge and practical skills to support teaching and learning across a range of classroom settings.
Training is delivered through a blend of online learning and expert-led sessions, covering key topics such as supporting pupil progress, safeguarding, behaviour management, and inclusive practice.
Throughout the apprenticeship, you’ll be supported by experienced tutors with real-world education experience. You’ll gain valuable hands-on experience in the classroom, working alongside qualified teachers while earning a nationally recognised qualification.
Training Outcome:
Progression on to further training and/or into full time employment.

Working Hours :
Monday - Friday 8.30am - 3.30pm. Term time only (39 weeks).
