Metal Fabricator apprentice

As a Fabrication and Welding Apprentice, you will work alongside experienced engineers and learn a wide range of fabrication and welding techniques within a busy aerospace manufacturing environment.

Your duties will include:

Learning TIG, MIG and brazing techniques on stainless steel, aluminium and other materials Assisting with the fabrication and assembly of components Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and work instructions Using hand tools, fabrication equipment and measuring instruments Carrying out quality checks to ensure work meets required standards Completing job documentation and following customer specifications Maintaining a safe and organised work area in line with Health & Safety and 5S standards Working as part of a skilled production team to support the manufacture of aerospace components

As your skills develop, you will take on increasing responsibility and gain hands-on experience across all aspects of fabrication and welding.

Training:
An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying

Start date with the employer is 1st September 2026.

Training Outcome:
Potential full-time contract as a Fabrication and Welding Operative at Nasmyth Qualified Level 3 Metal Fabricator

Monday - Thursday, 07:00 - 15:30 Friday, 07:00 - 12:00
