Apprentice Nursery Practitioner
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
To work alongside the EY Practitioners to provide a stimulating, safe and caring environment for children that meets their emotional and social needs, including those with special needs. Ensure high standards of care, development, learning and behaviour. Attend to pupils’ personal needs and implement related personal programmes, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first-aid and welfare matters, as appropriate. Maintain the ethos, values and overall purposes of the nursery. Assist the Nursery Leader & EY Practitioners in the implementation of nursery policies and procedures. Communicate politely, effectively and appropriately with all stakeholders. Establish constructive working relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations. Assist the Nursery Leader & EY Practitioners in the day-to-day running of the nursery, including ensuring resources are kept in suitable condition. Support the Nursery Leader to operate and evaluate an annual programme of activities, suitable for the age range of the children following the EYFS curriculum. Support the Nursery Leader in delivering individual and group work activities with the children. Work alongside the EY Practitioners to provide a stimulating and attractive environment for the children, and support and engage in a creative range of play and learning experiences for children, making full use of the indoor and outdoor environment throughout the year. Support the promotion of an inclusive environment in the setting, welcoming all children and ensuring no child is discriminated against on the grounds of disability, race, gender or cultural background. Provide and support in daily care, including intimate care and administering prescribed medication to children, if appropriate. Work alongside the EY Practitioners to observe each child’s progress and report on achievements and progress, as required. Complete all assessment records, as requested. Develop excellent communications with parents/guardians, encouraging them to participate in their child’s progress and development. Support the Nursery Leader and EY Practitioners in the preparation of both internal and external inspections and address any recommendations made.Support for the School
Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person Be aware of and support differences and ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop. Support and comply with the overall ethos/work/aims of the school. Develop constructive relationships and communicate with other agencies/professionals, in liaison with the teacher, to support achievement and progress of pupils.Training Outcome:
