A prestigious luxury hotel in Venice seeks an experienced, commercially driven Director of Sales to develop and execute its sales strategy, focusing on international business growth and strengthening its position in the luxury hospitality market.

This is a unique opportunity for a senior sales professional to join an exclusive resort and collaborate directly with ownership to drive revenue growth, expand key source markets, and enhance the property’s global commercial presence. The successful candidate will report directly to ownership, playing a strategic role in shaping the hotel’s future sales direction.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to meet revenue and market share targetsSpearhead business development across leisure, luxury travel, group, and MICE segmentsExpand business from key international markets, with a focus on North AmericaCultivate and maintain relationships with luxury travel advisors, consortia, tour operators, DMCs, corporate accounts, and industry partnersRepresent the property at international trade shows, sales missions, networking events, and industry conferencesIdentify new revenue opportunities and create strategic account plans for key clientsWork closely with Revenue Management and operational teams to optimize commercial performanceMonitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities in the luxury hospitality sectorPrepare sales forecasts, budgets, and regular performance reportsLead and develop the existing sales team while contributing to its future growthMaintain a strong presence in the luxury travel community and enhance brand visibility in target markets

Candidate Profile

Native Italian speaker with fluent EnglishSubstantial experience in luxury hospitality salesProven track record as Director of Sales or in senior commercial leadership rolesDemonstrated success in driving revenue growth and securing high-value businessExcellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skillsStrategic thinker with a hands-on, entrepreneurial approachComfortable working in an owner-led environment and engaging with senior stakeholdersStrong knowledge of and experience in the US luxury travel marketEstablished network of luxury travel advisors, agencies, tour operators, and industry partnersExperience with internationally recognized luxury hotel brands, collections, or independent luxury resortsParticipation in luxury travel fairs, sales missions, and international industry events
